Used for a v-drive inboard boat. Before I bought this oil changer, I would have to wait 60 minutes for the oil to drain out the transom through an oil pan drain hose. This pump got the job done in about 4 minutes. This is also much easier than a drill mounted pump. The hoses are just the right length.
The only complaint I have is that for my v-drive, the engine is too far from the battery for the power cables to reach.

Comments about Unified 12-Volt Oil Changer:
Eveything worked on the product, but I believe there is a bend in the tipstick tube on my engine that this pumps tube can't get past. Used product on older Ford 302 Interceptor engine and there is bend/turn in the dipstick tube that the dipstick even has a hard time with. The pump tube could not get past it and therefor did not work for me. There is nothing wrong with the product though and the pump seems to work well as long as it can actually reach the oil. I will explore other options and only caution buyers with the same engine configuration as me.

Comments about Unified 12-Volt Oil Changer:
I purchased this 12 volt oil changer along with several other products from Overtons. I recived it all in less than a week. I did not use the oil changeer for over a month after the purchas. When I went to use it I found that I did not have all of the parts. I called Overtons, they replaced it for me with out any hassles. In fact I was greatly suprised at the customer service. I have told several people and other boat owners about Overtons and how well they treat their customers. The new pump was here in 4 days worked great. I am very pleased with Overtons. and their products.

The pump has 2 different dip stick pick up tubes. 3/16 and 5/16 dia They fit all dip stick openings. Do not let the pump run dry. I have also removed the dip stick tube and easly pumped the oil out.Answered on 10/29/2012 by Capt.Lee from Interlachen, Fl

Do you think I will be able to find a fitting to attach to the tube in order to screw into my oil drain plug?Asked on 7/14/2009 by Anonymous1 answer

A:
i believe it's 1/4 inch tube. you probably could find a fitting but i don't know why you would need to. you just put the tube down the dipstick tube and it pumps the oil out into a bucket or jug. i think you would loose alot of oil trying to screw a fitting into the drain.Answered on 4/15/2010 by mike from park hills mo
