Product DescriptionThe clip-fed, 5-shot, bolt-action Springfield Model 1903 was the primary battle rifle of the U.S. military from its introduction up until 1936 and saw action as recently as Vietnam. The Model 1903 was based on a Mauser design, but differs from other rifles of the time by using a two-piece firing pin. During the build up to World War I, many of these rifles were produced by the military's Rock Island Arsenal to increase production. This rifle was rebuilt by Springfield Armory in 1928 and features an adjustable rear sight and a 2-position safety. Its wood and bore are in good condition and its metal is in fair condition.
