Product Description
mustang_survival The Auto Hydrostatic Inflatable PFD inflates only when it is submerged in 4" or more of water. It will not prematurely inflate due to rain, spray, or humidity. Constructed with durable 420-denier nylon and heavy-duty polyurethane-coated nylon, it features the SecureZip system that keeps the PFD closed during the most rigorous activity. It effortlessly opens upon inflation and is easy to repack. Low profile allows for maximum mobility. The neoprene ComfortCollar is soft and fits comfortably to reduce chafing around the neck. No inflator maintenance is required for 5 years unless the PFD has been inflated. Provides 35 lbs. of buoyancy. Includes strobe light holder, safety whistle, reflective tape, backup oral inflation tube, D-ring, and zippered pocket for your phone or keys. USCG approved type II/Commercial type V. Shipped ground only.

Comments about Mustang Survival Mustang Auto Hydrostatic Inflatable PFD MD3183:

Wife and I bought two of these to wear every time we boat. Needed to avoid making things hot. The completely open back and mostly open front allows air flow and keeps you from getting hot. Wearing a life vest could save our lives so it's worth the cost.

      • Q:

I weight 250 Lbs. I will be wearing a law enforcement gear belt gun, mags, & cuffs. Will this PFD carry me?

        • A:

It should...but if you feel youself struggling to stay up: get rid of the gunbelt. I know, I know; it's like a third leg to you (retired cop here) and you'd just as soon drown...but would you?

Once you've dropped that 35-plus pounds of weight, I'm sure you will find that the vest is doing its job. If you are still having a hard time, get rid of your shoes/boots - they are the next heavy item on the list...and of course your vest (you ARE wearing one aren't you?!?!?!?) can follow everything else to the briny deep. If you're in Michigan, you might want that vest for the warming factor it will give to your core body. What will kill you is NOT drowing, but submitting to the cold>>>sorry.

I weigh 350 plus pounds. What buoyancy in pounds do I need in a life vest.
