Comments about Shademate Traditional Sunbrella Pontoon Bimini Top, 1" Standard Frame, 90"-96"W:
I have ordered from Overtons over many years & this product was very disappointing. 1st day, seam at right rear was pulled from stitching (quality control?, top folded back at 20mph, strap toggles peeled open (had to cut from old bimini & replace), sides very loose over frame (suggest snaps)- the free Boot was worth just that - really not to be used while transporting boat as they peel back at speed. This product deserves double stitching at this price. The Original from Hurricane was much better & much sturdier

Comments about Shademate Traditional Sunbrella Pontoon Bimini Top, 1" Standard Frame, 90"-96"W:
It appaers to be a good product but a couple of irritations:
Fishing the wire for the nav light takes luck not skill. Took me more than 30 min.
Also the spring loaded pins on the back brace require using something like a scredriver to push them in far enough to get them to release from the bracket. I am going to drill them out and use a regular pin.

Comments about Shademate Traditional Sunbrella Pontoon Bimini Top, 1" Standard Frame, 90"-96"W:
The bimini top is well below original manufactures quality. My boat is 94" wide and the top hits the back of seats when put in the down position. The canvas is not sewn all the way across the middle supports which causes alot of wind flap.If had to do over i would have the old one repaired.

Comments about Shademate Traditional Sunbrella Pontoon Bimini Top, 1" Standard Frame, 90"-96"W:
I would have rated this five stars except for 2 minor hitches. First off the positive, assembly was simple. The whole installation time went amazingly quick even with a couple of redoes I had to do because my own errors. Looks fantastic on my pontoon. The instructions however told me I was finished with the install and remainder had to deal with the buggy style WRONG. On the final page was one minor but very important step for traditional bimini installation. Instructions for cutting the supports to level the top. I was so proud of myself for reading the instructions but silly me I stopped when they said installation for my style of top was done so I didn't see tha one step on the next page til later. The other flaw is the front spring clip broke during installation yes there is a lot of connecting and disconnecting for adjustments but not near as many as I expect to do over the next few years.

Great looking top, Easy to install, only problem, I see is if caught in sudden high wind clips that hold top forward will bend before you can get top down.Easy to bend back in place, but needs to be a solid clip.

The top is easy to install and looks great! I am concerned about the durability of the frame long term. It seems to be a little too flexible. But I have not had any problems so far!!!! I hope my concerns are unfounded.

Comments about Shademate Traditional Sunbrella Pontoon Bimini Top, 1" Standard Frame, 90"-96"W:
The top itself looks great and I'm pleased with the final result. However, the assembly instructions weren't the greatest. To compound the issue, they were photocopied and part of the instructions were cut off. Left a little guesswork.

Q:
Would this bimini top be a good iten to use for the front of the pontoon boat? I have a standard top now but would like to extend another "top" over the front end of the boat for comfort from the sun. (Like dual tops).
I have a 20 foot Tahoe, Vista 20, Burgundy and Cream color.
If not, then what would you recommend we use?Asked on 7/18/2010 by Moonlighter from Sanford, Me0 answers

CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Our Bimini Tops are universal and not categorized to match up with a specific year make and model boat. You need to figure out whether you have 1" or 1-1/4" rails and then you will need to physically measure the width of the mounting points in order to determine if this will work with your boat.Answered on 10/6/2009 by Lauren from Overton's Customer Service from Greenville, NC
Q:
Can I get a shorter height? 75" is too tall, I was looking at the 54" high frame.Asked on 10/4/2009 by Mrs. Jennifers from Oklahoma1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Our Pontoon bimini tops have square frames and the height can not be adjusted for. If your playpen has square railings and you order a bimini designed for a runabout boat the tubing on that bimini top will be round and your playpen railings are always square. You would have noticeably different railings. To answer your question Overton's does not have shorter bimini tops for pontoons and the heights are not adjustable and the runabout bimini tops that are shorter than 75 inches are not at all recommended to be mounted to pontoon boat railings.Answered on 10/5/2009 by JUSTIN from OVERTONS TECHNICIAN
