This is a great product for holding ski ropes, but its 12" length limits its use to about a 2.5" diameter width when coiled up, excluding many heavy duty and wider tow ropes or longer (5/8" x 150') anchor type rope. I like them, but if it were available in a larger, 1.25" x 16" size I would buy even more of them.

Pros
- Inexpensive
Cons
- Kind Of Wimpy
- Some Ropes Come W Them
Best Uses
- Holding Tow Ropes Togethe
Comments about Dockmate Rope Wrap:
Ordered a rope to tow inflatables, and had previously ordered a ski rope. I thought I'd get this 3-pack so I could help ensure the ropes don't get tangled, but both ropes came with a similar rope holder, actually a beefier one. These are a little on the wimpy side.

Q:
How do the straps attach, Velcro?Asked on 6/20/2010 by Tom6 answers

A:
Basically just a velcro wrap with a small loop for a caribiner or a hook.Answered on 7/12/2010 by Hellboy from Lake of the Ozarks, MO.VERIFIED BUYER
A:
They have the little black loops you can see in the photo which I thought were a little thin so I drilled a SS screw through the strap directly into the gunwale. If you have smooth hooks the loop would be fine but I wanted a more permanent attachment.Answered on 7/22/2010 by PapaRocks from Gloucester VAVERIFIED BUYER

Q:
are these long enough to wrap around docking lines or are they only useful for tow ropesAsked on 7/16/2009 by Phil from SML, VA4 answers
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
These can be used for dock line as well. They are 12"L x 1"W so as long as the coil you are wrapping is within that size range, it should work fine.Answered on 7/20/2009 by Ryan from OvertonsVERIFIED BUYER
A:
fine for longer ropes. it seems to be about 7" long, with long patches of velcro for adjustability.
and you could always wrap two together for a really large loop.Answered on 8/19/2009 by jrfitz81 from Burlington, WIVERIFIED BUYER
A:
Depends on the size and length of your docking lines. They're 12" long, so should handle most applications of standard sized boats.Answered on 10/2/2009 by Detail Dave from Fort Wayne, INVERIFIED BUYER
A:
Yes we even use them for fenders, are boat is 21ft and we can use them on our dock lines.Answered on 6/29/2010 by PL from Painesville,OH
