Too much vibration and noise. I mounted it under the rear deck and it made the whole stern of the boat vibrate. It needs a mounting system that isolates the vibrations from the boat (rubber grommets or something) or improvements in the balance of the motor and fan. I'm trying to fix the probem by adding rubber mounts between the blower and the deck, but it's not very effective.

Ordered, shipped and received in 3 days. Took only 10 minutes to install. Hope I don't need another one, but, if I do-I'll be back. Andrew P.

Comments about Detmar Water-Resistant 3" In-Line Blower:
This blower was totally easy to install. While the screw holes from my original blower didn't line up exactly, this was functional in about 10 minutes after I had it out of the box.

Comments about Detmar Water-Resistant 3" In-Line Blower:
Original equipment started to squeek and thought the bears were going out. Bought this product as a an identical replacement. Old fan had 5 blades and the new one had four blades but has the same air flow capacity. Oil on the old blower shaft cured the squeek. The new blower noise level is slightly higher than the old one, but should not be a problem since I like to know the thing is running when its activated.

This blower was an easy to install replacement for my old Attwood unit. It is much quieter that the Attwood ever was.

Q:
How many decibels does it put out?Asked on 6/2/2011 by Joe from Ronco, PA1 answer
A:
Joe,
The unit decibels were low enough that I didn't hear the unit running while the engine was at idle. My older unit I replaced could be heard while at running speed. Have not measured the actual level (no meter) but would reocmmend this product if you are looking for a quite bilge blower.Answered on 6/20/2012 by Norris Lake Boater from LaFollette, TN
