Comments about Traditions PA Pellet Flintlock .50 Muzzleloader with Redi-Pak, Blued/Black:

I am not new to shooting or reloading or muzzleloaders, but this is my first flintlock. I purchased the bubble pack kit in an effort to be range ready on the first day. It was unfortunate that the flints were not included, but the real problem came with the pan powder. Neither FF, FFF, or PS will work in the pan for this firearm as the flash won't turn the 90 degree corner because the grains are too big to get in it.

So, I came home from the range failing to coerce the weapon to go boom. ouch!

After failing to find FFFF powder for sale at any of my retail or online sources, I ball milled my own. So, on my second trip, using loose powder, the weapon did go boom, but only twice. This time i clogged the primer port with the loose powder's residue. Ouch again.

The weapon appears to be of high quality construction and the errors made mine. However, it would be nice to have FFFF available for purchase, not that I would shy away from making my own as it appears is necessary.

Long story short - great piece, but be prepared to do it yourself - something I am still in the process of doing.
