Comments about Columbia® Men's Monarch Pass™ Wool Jacket:
I have had this item in the past and use it for several years without any problems at all. I also had the bibs and the buckle needed repaired and when I contacted Columbia I was amazed to find out that their items had a lifetime warranty, so they advised me to return the complete set and if they couldn't make the repair they would replace the complete set . So I packed up the bibs, parka, and hat and shipped it to them. UNFORNATUNTLY the postal service somehow lost the complete package in Cincinnati Ohio??? So after proving the contents of the package and a 6 week delay from the postal service I did receive the insurance money, Which by the way was not enough to replace all the items. And I have purchased a new jacket and bibs they do not offer the parka any longer. Too bad I really like them better. This item is tried and true product. Great for cold and extremely cold weather, it even works when wet. I think wool is the only material that dose.

Comments about Columbia® Men's Monarch Pass™ Wool Jacket:
I ordered this coat in hopes it would be the right protection I need for early fall bowhunting in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where the weather tends to change in an instant. It has been the perfect match for the layering I do when hunting. It is also silent and that is important.

Comments about Columbia® Men's Monarch Pass™ Wool Jacket:
So far I've worn this jacket for bowhunting five times in northeast WI, temps only got down to 28. This jacket is warm, but you still must layer as it is NOT insulated. I prefer to layer since I have a long walk to the treestand. It did rain some (lightlty) and the jacket was waterproof...not sure how it would perform in heavy rains. Probably the best part about the jacket is the silence for bowhunting.
I will wear this jacket for the WI gun, muzzleloader, and late bow season. Overall a good product for the price.

Comments about Columbia® Men's Monarch Pass™ Wool Jacket:
We thought the garment would be thicker. Also, thought 100% Recycled Wool = 100% Recycled Wool not 60% recycled wool and 40% Unknown Reclaimed Fibers. So what could these fibers from India be???

Comments about Columbia® Men's Monarch Pass™ Wool Jacket:
This is a very warm and quiet hunting coat, understanding it is not lined or insulated. This is a plus as you can layer underneath instead of having one big heavy and bulky coat. I wear a light to mid-weight fleece jacket under and my hunting in some very cold weather and lots of blowing and snow and I have been very warm.
With the tight weave it cuts the wind and snow/rain just rolls off. I like the way the hood lays flat against your back when not deploying it over your head. Snow and debris stays out when you do pull the hood up. Took a while to get use to not having snaps for the hood, but there are two loops on the draw string to pull it snug and it has stayed in place. Also, the hood is cut just right to allow peripheral vision.
I got the pants last year, now I have the top to go with it. During gun season I just put a fleece blaze orange vest over top and I can move through brush quietly.
Oh, and I appreciate the shell holders sewn in to the one pocket.
