I just received the vest today for our dog Ruger. He is 73 pounds. An American Field Labrador, so he is tall & lean. The XL fits him VERY snug, but I don't think I would want it loose. He is recovering from a chest wound, so the chest protector is the main reason for this purchase. One month ago he jumped over a log & a snag from the log tore his entire chest open. (not the cavity...but all the muscle & skin) I just took him out for a hike with his new vest.....he did great & it protects everything that needs protected!!!
