Comments about Rossi Matched Set Youth Centerfire Rifle Set:
Great gun but will not last long and the wait time for repairs from the manufacture (Braz Tech International) will be on the months time line. Therefore if your like my son and I, we had to buy another gun to finish our skeet league. I recommend a Remington 870 if your kids arms are long enough.

Comments about Rossi Matched Set Youth Centerfire Rifle Set:
I bought this set for my wife and son in matte nickle youth model. The .22 shoots fine as most .22s do. I love the ejector. The .20 guage kicks but not overly so.Now the one most questioned, the .243 win. rifle barrel, I scoped this one with a 4-16x40mm Center Point ($70 at [@]) when you start shooting the gun will function perfectly. the fisrt 3 rds at 100 yards with federal 100gr. are right on each other. from this point on if you keep shooting the rounds will keep spreading out. The worst pattern I could cause was 4" at 100 yards and to do this I got the barrel hot enough that the nylon foregrip started smoking.(15 rounds back to back, last 5 for group on second target.) The breach also started to jam at this point. So the point here is this is a single shot hunting rifle treat it as such and it works great, abuse it and you will have problems. BTW it shot fine the next time out.

Comments about Rossi Matched Set Youth Centerfire Rifle Set:
Great starter gun for anyone. After 20-30 rounds grouping started to get very respectable at 100 yards...and gets better all the time..as would be expected with a brand new barrel. Bought the adult matched set for wife and youth matched for son. The only difference is the youth model is less than 1/2 inch shorter and it DID NOT come with the side cocking attachment for the hammer or the scope mount base. Both guns have killed several deer and tons or squirrels, crows and clays. Wife has killed 2 deer over 100 yards.

Comments about Rossi Matched Set Youth Centerfire Rifle Set:
Santa got two of these for my boys (11) last year and they have been everything I hoped they would be. The 22 worked great as a learning tool and as they gained confidence and improved their handling skills I would switch out the barrels, which is very easy to do, to the 243 or 20 gauge. It was fun to watch their expressions as they fired those two for the first time. We go to the range at least once a month and have had no problem with these firearms. They are very easy to clean and maintain and the youth size has worked out well for them. It also has a removable cheek pad. I would recommend this product

A:
On the Rossi Website (rossiusa.com) the .243 barrel comes with a scope rail. I would assume the barrel sold by Gander has that same rail.Answered on 12/6/2009 by RACox from Amarillo, TXA:
You can mount a scope to the gun, both the 223 and 22 takes a weaver 92A rail.Answered on 3/20/2010 by hoff from New york
