Comments about Smith & Wesson Smith & Wesson Sigma 9MM:

I owned one when they first came out and thought I needed something "better" so I traded it on a Springfield 1911A1 compact. I didn't like it. Then I traded that on a Beretta .9mm. Nope, not as light or accurate. Years later and several more guns, I returned to the Sigma 9ve as my primary carry weapon. I also shoot it regularly at the range. Great dual purpose weapon. Highly recommend it over the ".380 pocket rockets" being sucked up in great quantities today.

Comments about Smith & Wesson Smith & Wesson Sigma 9MM:

You may read nothing but negative comments about this handgun but in fact all those nay sayers are saying nay over a completely different handgun from 15 years ago(first high capicty auto sigma)! Mine was tested and made beggining of 2009 and i have had nothing but good things to say. I take it with me every where i go! It is hefty enough to store in glove box and really proves reliable. I trust my life to this handgun every day! while i carry, i simply know it will function as intended if need be. A lot of people might complain about the trigger and yes it does take getting used to, but practice is what you do with handguns and practice often!

Everyone who says it shoots low hasnt shot it enough yet. mine shot low at first and i just tried focusing on getting perfect trigger pull and i can hit whatever i want! never adjusted the sights you just have to KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING! PRACTICE PRACTICE!

Absolutely yes i would buy this 2 more times one more of each caliber! PERFECT for beginers for the price! I love this handgun.

Comments about Smith & Wesson Smith & Wesson Sigma 9MM:

My 23 year old daughter bought her Sigma when she got her concealed weapons permit last year. I tried it at the range and liked the performance so well I bought one for myself. I carry this now, instead of my Ruger P95. The Sigma is more compact and lighter. Some say the trigger is a little stiff, but I have no issue with it. The Sigma shoots great!!

I read some very helpful answers here. Thanks to all who shared. Does the 10-lb trigger pull reduce accuracy, or is it just something you have to adjust to?

actually i think it helps improve your shooting skills
once you get used to the pull everything else will feel "pansy"

This was my first handgun. I have 4 now but if you want to be accurate all you have to do is practice shooting form and a lot of people say to dry fire that way you learn the trigger with out wasting ammo! I do it every now and then but I hear dads voice in my head about dry firing so I try not to. Once you spend enough time with this pistol you will be able to do what everyone else cant and whines about. You can read my review at gander mtn I trust my life with this I have this with me where ever I go. You cant beat the price! On top of that Gander MTN and plenty of other places local im sure can do a trigger job for you if its that big of a deal and that might help you out. This trigger will teach you good form. Straight back, Smooth Consistent, trigger pulls

You can never have enough practice!

Would this be a good starting weapon for a 19 year old In school for law enforcement to train with for target practice reasons? and does anyone know if im not 21 but say my father gets the license for it am i able to use it at the shooting range without him being there?
Asked on 3/1/2010 by Willis from Davenport,IA

              1 answer

              • A:

For familiarization with a weapon of an action typical of a police service sidearm, the Sigma will work as well as pretty much any other. You can use it to learn everything from basic firearm handling and safety to combat tactics and rapid reloads.
As far as using it without its licensed owner present, that would depend on the laws of your locale. In Florida (where I am) there is no law prohibiting someone under the age of 21 (but at least 18) from being in possession of a handgun that is otherwise lawfully carried/used, and there is no ownership licensing.

YES you need a purchase permit. they dont mail guns to your house. you will have to have it shipped to a gun dealer of your choice. there you will fill out the paper work and present your purchase permit.

WHATS THE DIFFERENCE IN DOUBLE ACTION AND SEMI AUTO??
Asked on 12/15/2009 by OLLIE NEW BOY from SPFLD OHIO

              1 answer

              • A:

Double action refers to the trigger action, it does two things when you pull the trigger, first it cock$ the firing mechanism and second it releases the firing mechanism. A pistol or semi auto can be double action. Semi auto mean once you fire the pistol it clears the spent round and loads the next round into the breech.
