I bow hunt on 15 acres and I set up a tripod feeder last year and Nothing came out. I think it spooked them. I hung this feeder about 8 feet up using a rope and pulley so I could raise or lower it to refill with out having to carry a ladder into the woods. The deer are back in the neighborhood as evidenced by the tracks

Comments about Moultrie 6.5-Gallon Econo Plus Hanging Feeder:
I purchased two feeders because they are very portable and easy to set up. They can be placed in areas not accessable to motorized vehicles. Filled to capacity with shelled corn, they will last almost two weeks, spinning out a pound of corn twice a day.

Q:
How often does it need to be refilled with feed and how many pounds of feed does it take?Asked on 11/24/2009 by James from NY2 answers
A:
mine takes about 40 lbs of corn. it last for 6 days on 4 sec spins. if you hag it from a tree limb, an u have varmits like coons, they hang from limb an you'll have to fill it every 2 days they spin it all out quickly,i know this from my trail camera. i had to put a pipe pole in the ground away from trees to keep the varmits out. its a great feeder wish i could bye just the spinner, ive had mine for 3 yrs its still works great. when i hunt hogs at night i shine my flashlight on feeder an it goes off from the light an keeps the hogs comming in while i'm there in the blind. robert from texasAnswered on 12/24/2009 by robert from south texasA:
The feeder will hold approx 40lbs of whole corn.Answered on 12/24/2009 by Bubba from Tennessee
Q:
WHAT COULD I EXPECT DURATION WISE FROM THE 6V BATTERYAsked on 10/8/2009 by KINGFISH from CYPRESS, TEXAS2 answers
A:
Mine usually last all season for deer, and sometimes is I take my battery off and keep it in the house all winter it can be used begining the next season, but another idea is what I have started to do, I buy the 6V battery for a kids remote control car, and just keep and eye on it to make sure, and just swap it out. this pays off after your second season.Answered on 10/20/2009 by sam the ocasional hunter from Port Barre, LAA:
I use a rechargable 6V sealed lead-acid and it seemes to last the 4 month NJ season and then some. Battery can also be used to run trail-cams so 1 charger and a few batts. is a good investmentAnswered on 8/2/2012 by Just John from Vernon, Nj
