It worked well. Must put downward pressure on fiberglass rods to keep it in place during windy conditions. Bottom of pole waked around a bit. Tried placing a rubber shoe under pole to keep it in place to no avail. Added a bungie cord to keep the pole in place. Needs a better rubber end cap to keep it in place. Maybe a suction cup type of bottom. Otherwise, it looks great and worked well. It will help save my boats seats and equipment as well as us from the strong Sun's rays we have on the Colorado River. Our use is mainly on Lake Mead, Lake Mojave, and Havasu. Also, the extra shade helps keep our ice longer which is very important for us on the Colorado River. Very easy to use.

NOT WORTH THE MONEY. Taylor Made should be ashamed of this product and Overton's should not carrie or advertised as "best Seller" [...]. Poorly made, at the end of the day...the mechanism that is supposed to slide down the pole to enable the shade to fold up locked up. I tried everything possible but it would not fold up. I ended up using a screwdriver to dismantle the hole umbrella and put it back in the supposedly heavy duty nylon bag that rip on the side. I have know send the umbrella back to overton's [...]. So if you don't want to be cheat it out of your money DON't Buy it!

Great for sun and light rain protection in the cockpit of our 32' cruiser. I really hate the branding on it - this lost them a star. People thought it was the name of our boat. The color shoices are good and the storage bag is great. Once you have your location for regular usage identified - taking it up and down is extremely simple. Even kept us dry in an unepected shower.

Don't know why some people complain about this product? you get what you pay for and for that, it does exactly what it supposed to do. Even if some of this plastic hardware should break tomorrow, I would replace it with stainless, no big deal. Love the product, love the shade, love the fact that we can spend more time on the water. Oh, I'm not a fan of the giant logos :)

Comments about Taylor Made AnchorShade II:

I had an Anchor Shade that was destroyed by a sudden gust of wind. The metal support rods were bent and broken. That being said, I had that shade for 17 years and loved the looks of it and the ease of use.
Now I have the new style, and I'll tell you I am disappointed. Other than the new fiberglass support rods, this shade does not match up.
Lets start with the most obvious thing, the center poll is smaller and flimsy. The lock on the poll takes a lot to tighten. If you have lotion on your hands, forget it. It's cheap and it's junk. The old style lock was far superior.
Then there is the shade itself. I much prefered the old nylon style than the new canvas type material. It seemed lighter and more airy.
Last but not least, the old logo printed on the shade (Anchor Shade) was much more attractive than the new one (Taylor Made). Tacky!
What's unfortunate, there the only game in town.
I would NOT by another one like this.

Comments about Taylor Made AnchorShade II:

The Anchor Shade broke during the first use. I could not collapse the umbrella. To get underway we had to force it closed breaking a plastic sleeve. Overton's replaced it immediately and conveniently. At Overton's suggestion I called Taylor Made. They are sending a backup replacement part for the piece that failed. I had my original anchorshade for more then 10 years with no problem. I was disappointed that this one failed after just 2 hours.

I've been very careful not to place it where it can be damaged. Opened it this weekend and see one of the support poles (fiberglass) is splintered. If warranty doesn't cover this problem, can I buy a replacement pole?

the center pole provides support with four teather lines extending from the corners of the shade to the cleats of your boat. We alos are able to attache the lines to bow rails, ect.
