    I use this island in our small lake, we anchor it to the bottom at about 10' deep. In the past we bought Connelly's Floatilla. This Airhead has less of a platform for the kids to hang out on. The well area takes up too much space. Also the well side is not sturdy and when kids are playing in it it can collapse. Not so bad that it swallows the kids up but enough that it is clear it is not really sturdy. Wish we could still buy the Connelly Floatilla, guess we will have to use this one. Bummer.

        We rented a lakehouse in the mountains for a week for our family vacation this year. We didn't want to haul our boat that far, and we couldn't find any jet skis to rent for a decent price, so we decided to buy a water toy to enable us to enjoy the lake. We searched for some time and settled on this, and it turned out to be the perfect choice! The island was huge and durable and provided hours of fun for our crew of 6 teenagers and 2 adults. We tied it off to the dock so it could float around, but not float away. We could lay on top to soak up the sun, or sit in the mesh in the water to cool off. The kids enjoyed "surfing" wakes from passing boats and diving off the island. Standing on it was certainly less stable for this group of older teenagers, but that added to the fun. Younger kids could likely stand and still be stable. The pad to climb in was helpful for us adults. Do give yourself a little time to get it inflated because it is big, and it is a little bulky once deflated, but that's the natural tradeoff of something this size. Also, if you are horseplaying, avoid falling on top of the cupholders as that can leave a mark, although it was certainly not a deterrant. We love this island, and look forward to taking it with us on our boat for when we want to drop anchor and play!

          This thing was perfect for our summer vacation in Lake Guntersville, AL. We kept it anchored off the dock for 10 days straight and it even survived two severe thunderstorms! The mesh area was great for young kids (2 and 4) to splash around in and the adults loved it too. Nice to relax in the mesh area and stay cool while sunning or just roll over into it after laying on the deck part and cool off. The inflatable area around the mesh did tend to cave in occasionally, but maybe we didn't have enough air in it. And it can be a little difficult to pull up onto the deck part; it's actually easier to enter it by crawling into the mesh area. But neither of those minor nuisances detract from my opinion. IMO, we got our money's worth on the very first day! I highly recommend for summer fun in the lake!!
