Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer
David C. Pratt was elected Chairman of the Board in December 2006. Mr. Pratt was elected as a director of Gander Mountain in August 2005 and named Vice Chairman of the Board in December 2005. He was appointed interim chief executive officer in September 2008. Mr. Pratt is the former chairman, president and chief executive officer of United Industries, which he founded in 1969. He also is president of Rex Realty in Clayton, Missouri, and is a minority owner of the St. Louis Cardinals major league baseball team. A generous supporter of St. Louis charities, he is on the Board of Directors of the Sisters of Mercy Health System and serves on their executive committee.
Michael J. Owens
Michael J. Owens as President is responsible for Finance, IT & Human Resources across all channels of the orgainzation. Mr. Owens joined Gander Mountain in January 2009 as executive vice president and chief operating officer. Prior to joining Gander Mountain, he served for 27 years in positions of increasing responsibility for Anheuser-Busch, where he led efforts to expand the company’s product offerings. He most recently served as Anheuser-Busch's vice president of business operations, which required him to lead the company’s procurement materials program and other finance and planning matters. Previously, Mr. Owens served as Anheuser-Busch’s vice president of sales and marketing
Eric R. Jacobsen
Executive Vice President, Director of Real Estate, General Counsel and Secretary
Eric R. Jacobsen was promoted to Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary in January 2009. He joined Gander Mountain in May 2005 as senior vice president, general counsel and secretary. Mr. Jacobsen is responsible for legal, risk management and regulatory compliance matters. Mr. Jacobsen also leads the company's new store real estate site selection, financing and leasing process. Prior to Gander Mountain, he served as senior vice president and general counsel for Northwestern Corporation and from 1995 to 1998 served as vice president, general counsel and secretary of Lodgenet Entertainment Corporation. Previously, he was a partner in the law firm of Manatt, Phelps and Phillips, Los Angeles, California, specializing in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Jacobsen holds a JD-MBA degree from the University of Southern California.
Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
Derek Siddons was promoted to Executive Vice President – Chief Operating Officer in June 2015 and is responsible for the Operations, Marketing, and Merchandising functions across all channels of the organization including retail and direct. Mr. Siddons has been with Gander since 2009 and held roles of increasing responsibility including Store Manager, District Manager, Director; Gander Gun World, SVP; Retail & E-commerce Operations and EVP; Operations, Marketing and Merchandising. Derek’s commitment to strong processes, driving results through people and dedication to achieving the goals will continue to lead Gander to success.
Executive Vice President; Retail Store Design and Development
Lisa Schmidt was promoted to Executive Vice President; Store Design and Development in October 2014 and is responsible for the look, feel and design of the internal and external store design, visual merchandising, overall facility development and merchandise space planning. Ms. Schmidt has been with Gander since 2000, spending 9 years in Gander Mtn. stores in roles with increasing responsibility as Department Manager, Assistant Manager and Store Manager. In 2009, Ms. Schmidt joined the headquarters team and has held roles of increasing responsibility as Visual Merchandiser, Manager of Visual Merchandising, Director of Visual & Store Design, Vice President of Visual Merchandising and Store Design and most recently Senior Vice President, Facilities, Visual and Store Design.
Robert J. Vold
Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer
Robert J. Vold joined Gander Mountain in October 2005 as vice president, finance. He was appointed senior vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer in January 2007. Mr. Vold previously spent seventeen years in positions of increasing responsibility in finance at Norstan, Inc., including chief financial officer. He began his career with Arthur Andersen LLP.
Senior Vice President; Planning, Supply Chain and Hardlines Merchandising
Jay Tibbets was promoted to Senior Vice President; Planning, Supply Chain and Hardlines Merchandising in June 2015. Mr. Tibbets joined Gander Mountain in March 2015 as Vice President Hardlines Merchandising. Previously, he held several positions at ATK Sporting Group including Director of Business Development for Conventional Munitions, Vice President of Strategy and Business for ATK Armament Systems, and most recently, Senior Vice President and President. Before joining the corporate workforce, Mr. Tibbets served 22 years in the U.S. Marine Corps as an Ammunition Officer.
Senior Vice President Merchandising; Apparel, Footwear, Camping and all Product Development
Rachel Smith was promoted to Senior Vice President, Merchandising in June 2015, and is responsible for Apparel, Footwear and Camping Merchandising and all Product Development. Rachel has been with Gander since 2014 in roles of increasing responsibility from Director; Footwear Merchandising, Sr. Director; Softlines Merchandising and Vice President; Softlines Merchandising. Prior to Gander, Rachel spent 7 years at Payless Shoes and 7 years at Target. At both companies, she held positions of increasing responsibility including Merchandise Replenishment & Planning along with Buyer and Senior Buyer roles.
