What ever happened to the Gander Mountain catalog?
Gander Mountain sold its catalog business in April of 1996. At the same time, retail operations were sold to Holiday Companies. Gander Mountain has not had a catalog of its products since then but will begin producing catalogs again in the near future! A number of factors come into play. First and foremost, we look for areas with a high concentration of outdoor enthusiasts. Typically we locate in mid-size towns that offer easy access from interstates and major highways. Our ideal locations are also on routes to and from hunting, fishing, and camping areas.

Besides bringing roughly 60 jobs to the community, Gander Mountain prides itself on its commitment to community involvement. We view ourselves as a chain of neighborhood stores and conduct in-store educational seminars and events on an on-going basis. We also make the in-store Gander Lodge available free of charge to most local community groups that would like to use it for meetings.
